Secret 1: Never leave it for later
Vegetable, fruit and berry residue is easy to clean immediately, and very difficult to clean a few hours later when it has adhered to the walls of the bowl.
Secret 2. Let it wash itself!
You think a blender won’t clean itself? Just fill it with a couple cups of water, some dishwashing detergent and blend for 30 seconds. The cleaning “cocktail” will help remove stuck-on particles from the walls without the slightest effort.
Secret 3. Vinegar and baking soda against stubborn stains
Over time, the plastic blender bowl gradually accumulates pigments from brightly colored foods (such as blueberries or beets). So every couple of weeks, it’s a good idea to rinse the bowl with vinegar and baking soda. For 3 parts vinegar, take 1 part baking soda and 1 part water. Mix on high speed for 30 seconds, scrub with a soft cloth or sponge, and then rinse.
Secret 4. If you don’t have time at all, fill with water
If you don’t have 30 seconds to spare, simply fill the blender bowl with water and a little dishwashing detergent or dishwasher powder. Even if you come back late at night, it will be much easier to get the blender clean.
Secret 5. Over time, plastic just stops sparkling
No matter how many times you try to clean a plastic cup: if you regularly get nuts and seeds in your blender, it will inevitably get cloudier. Hard foods leave micro-scratches in the plastic, and the glass is no longer as pristine and transparent as it was the day you bought it. The scratches, of course, do not affect the quality of work. The only thing left to do is to take them for granted — or choose a blender with a glass bowl, devoid of such a disadvantage.
Secret 6. Lemon freshness
The unpleasant odor coming from the blender bowl can discourage a healthy lifestyle for a long time. Throw half a lemon in it, add half a cup of water and blend for 30 seconds. The lemon helps “draw out” and dissolve any extraneous odors.
Secret 7. Wipe down the base of the blender from time to time as well
The only part of the blender that it can’t clean “by itself” is the base of the blender. Always unplug your blender if you are wiping its base (base). Use a soft sponge or an old toothbrush to thoroughly clean every corner, the area around the buttons and handles. Dishwashing detergent will work fine, as opposed to abrasive products that leave micro-scratches. Take care of your blender and it will take care of you in return!
