Blinds cleaning

Blinds are an indispensable attribute of almost every office. However, office workers often forget that blinds require regular maintenance, as a result, dirty blinds with a layer of dust significantly spoil the appearance of the office.

There are many varieties of blinds. These are vertical blinds, horizontal blinds, plissé blinds, photo blinds, aluminum blinds, plastic blinds, plastic blinds under wood, multifactured blinds, fabric blinds, bamboo blinds, roller blinds (roller blinds), wooden blinds.
There are some simple effective ways that require minimal effort.

Cleaning aluminum blinds

Putting it off until later? Can’t blame you for that, but now you’ll learn a few simple ways you can clean them. Fill a spray bottle halfway with water, add some dishwashing detergent, top up with more water. Sprinkle some of the spray onto a lint-free towel. Turn the slats of the blinds toward you and wipe from top to bottom without pressing down to avoid bending them. Flip the blinds over to the other side and wipe again.

This only takes a few minutes, so you can clean the blinds gradually, with each cleaning a certain part, and the dirt will not accumulate. If the blinds have reached a hopeless state, it is absolutely necessary to remove them. Pull the loops on both ends and take out the slats. If you can’t do this, heat the blinds for a few minutes with a hair dryer. The heat will cause the metal to expand and the slats will pop out on their own.

Apply a foaming bath cleaner to the blinds. Apply shaving cream to the cables. When the deeply embedded dirt has come off, turn the slats over and repeat the steps. Wipe with a clean, damp sponge and dry on a large towel.

Wooden blinds

Blinds made of real wood should be cleaned gently and carefully. It is NOT recommended to wash wooden blinds. Even though the wood is lacquered, water or excess moisture can warp or discolor the slats. The surface of the slats is smooth, so you can easily wipe off dust with a clean soft cloth or vacuum cleaner brush at regular intervals. Clean them as described above.

Cleaning fabric plissé curtains

There are often many problems when cleaning these curtains. Never use any cleaning product for day-to-night curtains — they leave stains. To keep dirt from accumulating, vacuum them more often. Make sure you thoroughly clean the bristles on the nozzle before vacuuming. You can find a dry sponge in appliance stores, use it to wipe the entire surface. Also suitable are towels with short fibers — moisten them with water and wring them out to remove excess moisture. Quickly wipe the surface of the plisse curtains, making sure not to get too much moisture on them. Fix the curtains in a certain position so that all the folds become visible.

Cleaning Mesh Blinds

Most mesh blinds are anti-static, so they don’t need to be cleaned as often. A light brushing with a vacuum cleaner brush is enough to keep dust from accumulating on them. For a more thorough cleaning, the entire surface of the blinds should be wiped with a soft damp cloth, using warm (not hot) water. For blinds that do not allow light to pass through (blackout blinds), take special care not to immerse them in water to prevent them from wrinkling. For stains that have set in, use a mild stain remover. Some blinds are made of a “soft-touch” material. Be careful when cleaning them, as excessive friction can ruin the fabric and cause “lint” to appear.
